If you know one thing about your feet it’s that they’re, well, a little large. Ideally, you would hit the shoe stores when you need a new pair and simply try things on until you find a good match. But that only works well for women whose feet are of a more average size. Shoes in sizes 10 and up are hard to find and even if you do run across a pair, they likely aren’t the style you want, or they don’t fit right. You’d consider ordering online, but what size do you need? Use this guide to measure your large size feet. You can get the shoe in the style you want and the size you need.

The first thing you should do is compare your feet. Is one bigger than the other? It’s not uncommon. You might have noticed in shoes before that one shoe fits while the other is tight and uncomfortable. In those cases, you should measure the foot that is larger to make sure you get a shoe big enough for that foot. If you have extra time, measure both and see just how big the difference is!

Get out a piece of paper large enough to fit your foot and sit down in a chair. Put on a medium-sized sock or something that you would normally wear in the shoes you are looking to buy. Grab a pencil and trace your foot by using the pencil in a vertical manner. Make sure you outline the longest toe and the back of your heel. You also want to mark on either side of your foot at the widest point.

Then, use a ruler to measure the distance from the back of your heel to the top of the longest toe, as you have marked. Record those results in inches and centimeters so you can find your size on any chart.

Shopping online feels risky when you are looking for shoes, so make sure you look over return policies with care. At the same time, it feels good to find adorable shoes and then click on the sizes, only to find that there are options that should fit you! You don’t have to go to the boat store! You can find shoes that match your style and personality in a size that will actually fit you!

Make sure you measure your feet with care to get the best results. If you order more shoes in a few months, measure again because you just never know what’s going to shift and morph in that area of your body. Feet can change as time goes by. Once you get those perfect shoes in that perfect size, the time you spent measuring will pay off in leaps and bounds!
