What we love about Michelle Obama's shoe game
Michelle Obama is one of the most watched women in the world. And that is true from her head all the way down to her toes. She’s had to be picture perfect as the First Lady and even as the Former First Lady, her style has stood out. She’s left proper decorum behind her and let her true style shine through since the presidency was passed over to another person. There are a number of places you can mark as unexpected when it comes to her shoe fashion.
The Caged Booties
Even when Michelle Obama went more casual in a white pantsuit on her book tour for “Becoming”, her footwear stood out. The caged booties she wore were both matching to her white pantsuit and fashion forward. The retail price of $1,050 was well worth it for the pointed toe, 4-inch heeled boot.
The Vacation Block Heel
Even on vacation, her feet are in fine shape. The ankle strap Fendi sandals featured a comfy block hear with floral details. It went well with her patriotic look back in 2016 while she and the President had a vacation in Martha’s Vineyard.
The Thigh-High Boots
The former first lady sent the internet into a spiral when she walked onto the stage at the Barclay Center in golden Balenciaga boots that sparkled from her toes all the way up her thigh. The $4,000 boots may have seemed like an obvious choice on a pop star, but on a first lady, they were a bit more surprising. The shoes commanded attention even over a canary yellow dress and definitely stole the show.
She chose boots that were a bit more muted for the Inauguration with knee-high Leather Suede Boots from Reed Krakoff. The seamless look blended into the rest of her attire and gave her a regal appearance.
The Ultra Comfortable
Even when she’s dressed way down in jeans and a sweater, her feet are on fire. At a Feeding America event in Washington D.C., she was in fine form in Lanvin Sneakers that made her look approachable and yet on point at the same time.
The First Lady Look
During the 2012 Democratic Convention, all eyes were on Michelle Obama. Her Everly suede pumps from J. Crew were a perfect match to her shiny dress and brought her style to the forefront fast.
We have no doubt that being First Lady and having your every style move watched carefully is hard to the hilt. But Michelle Obama has a seamless foot style that causes envy and a few shakes of the head in wonder. How does she do it? Every time!
